The annual Wolfson Family Resilience Scholarship was awarded to Sarah Rautio, who plans to study Nursing at Northern Michigan University. Scott A. Wolfson chose Sarah’s essay because, “It captured the values of The Wolfson Family Resilience Scholarship and embodied what it means to be resilient: meeting challenges head-on and bouncing back from them.”
Scott A. Wolfson established the Wolfson Family Resilience Scholarship at his alma mater, Westwood High School, in Ishpeming Michigan. In addition to an essay requirement, the scholarship requires that the recipient held a part-time job during high school and overcame a substantial challenge in his or her life.
